Memorial Day

I'm kind of a delayed blogger, but I eventually get around to it!

For Memorial Day my parents broke out the Wave runners and we went to Lake Vantage for a barbecue and some fun at the beach

I think this was Macey's first watermelon, and she absolutely loved it. She kept eating the rhine.

We were going to take Macey out on the wave runners, but right after this picture I let go of her and she face planted it in the sand.
The only person who could console her was Grandma. For real.
After some of us took a nap, we played an exciting game of croquet.

Al and I taught Macey how to play while everyone else napped.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day!

The new hang out spot

So it all started this morning. I was doing stuff in the kitchen (you know the stuff moms do!), and it was pretty quiet so I thought I'd check on Macey. As I went into the living room I saw that she was just sitting on the stairs playing with a little car, and was happy as could be. She ran around a bit, but always heads back to the stairs.

Slowly she starts collecting things and bringing them back to the stairs.
Here's her collection around 9:00 before we headed out to do somethings.
Later this afternoon she decided to head back to her new hang out spot and create more of a collection.
Some of the things you may not be able to tell she collected are a dryer sheet, Alan's sock, a fruit snack wrapper, a framed picture, her coat, a toy car, remote controls, and of course her car and stroller. Who knew how much fun the stairs could be?

Maybe we should enter her in an eating contest!

This girl can eat like no other. The other day we had pancakes. She ate 2 and I ate 2 1/2 and was stuffed. Her favorite food is banana, she's the fastest banana eater I've ever seen.

She also loves goldfish. When I'm making dinner I'll set some goldfish out on this stool, and Macey loves to sit on it like a little desk and eat away.

Sundays at the Blair's

Most Sundays we go to my parents house for dinner and games. Now that it's warmer out we've started up our croquet tournament. We love it.
Macey loves Grandpa.

Sometimes our croquet game can get a little tricky.

I'm feeling a bit guilty!

The next Sunday we were back we had a talk in church on Pride. It seems that bragging (gloating) about things is a bit prideful. Please forgive me for "Gloating" about our cruise. (But IT was awesome, not me of course!)

Jogging stroller/ Bike Trailer

So were looking for a jogging stroller/bike trailer that can collapse down to be put in a car, and that is not super expensive. Anyone have any suggestions on where we can find one?

Time to Gloat

Alas, we are back from our cruise. I'd have to say it was my favorite vacation ever. Yes it's a big statement, but I do believe it's true! I'd highly recommend a cruise to anyone interested. We were gone for a week, and left Macey with my parents. We weren't too worried since Macey LOVES my mom...quite possibly more then us!

We went with my sister Kari and her husband Todd and had such a fun time hanging out with them. Our boat was called the "Freedom of the Seas" and was amazing. It had rock climbing, mini golf, a surf machine, ice skating rink, ping pong, a huge theater, and many other awesome things. The places we stopped at were Haiti, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. Below are a bunch of pictures of all we did.

This is Alan and I on the "Flow rider"

In Haiti we hung out on the beach a lot...as you can tell from Al's feet we should have used more sunscreen.

In Jamaica we hiked up some waterfalls.
This dude sang us a song
This is a view of Jamaica from a plantation
I just think this picture is funny, 'cause Alan looks like a Giant.
Amy thanks for letting us borrow your cute dresses for formal night

Arbor day excitement

A few weeks ago we went to an Arbor Day event held at a local place here in Yakima. They had tons of exhibits, and animals, and cool stuff. Macey's favorite was the puppies. She LOVES dogs. I have to agree, they were pretty cute.

I can't believe we let her touch this snake... gross. Alan was holding it and Macey grabbed it and started squeezing. I don't think the snake really liked Macey.

They had a reptile exhibit with frogs and snakes and turtles.

Yikes that's one scary bear.

Happy Easter (Last month)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter a few weeks back. We gave Macey an Easter basket full of marshmallows and Alan and I hid each others baskets that had real candy in them. Mmm I love Reeses peanutbutter eggs. Alan found his basket right away.

Later in the day we went to my parents house and had dinner with some of my cousins and their kids, and my aunt. We did an Easter egg hunt. Macey found two eggs and was content to sit and hold them.

The things she learns

We discovered that Macey loves push cars like this one. Every time we've been at friends houses who have them she loves them. So I decided I needed to find one for her. I checked on craigslist to see if I could find one, but they weren't much cheaper then the ones at the store. The next day as I was taking the garbage out, guess what I saw next to the dumpster? You guessed it. This car. (For those who know Alan and I, you won't be surprised what I did.) It had some peeling stickers on it and the plastic was faded from sun, but it looked fine other then that. I waited a few day just to make sure no kid left it there on accident, and then I took it! It's now Macey's all time favorite toy.

In my defense, those of you who are thinking what a horrible mom I am for giving my daughter something from the garbage, it was actually next to the garbage and I gave it a good cleaning before I let her touch it.

Which brings me to the title of my post. "the things she learns". I used disinfectant wipes to clean it up. The next day Macey got into her diaper wipes pulled one out, ran over to her car and began wiping it down. It's amazing how much kids notice and copy.

Here is just another example of what kids copy. Macey found a calculator we had laying around and next thing I know she's walking around holding it on her ear and jabbering away. I guess it does kind of look like a cell phone. I guess this is what we have to look forward to when she's a teenager.

Thanks

Thanks for the info on the great website. Very cute backgrounds. I was going to post too, but Macey just woke up from her nap...dang it. Maybe later.

Blogger templates

Anyone know of a good place to get blogger templates. I checked out Pyzam but didn't find something I love. I'd like something more simple and Springy (as in Spring time feeling, not bouncy. It's a new definition of the word!)

Mmmm, Spaghetti

I just thought this picture was cute. We finally got a computer and Internet. So I'm back to blogging. I guess I should really say picture posting. As you can tell I'm not really much of an actually "Blogger". I'm excited to catch up on what's been going on with everyone else the past 4 or 5 months. Sorry about not being very good with keeping in touch.

Macey's 1st Birthday

She loved eating her cake.

She knew it was all hers

We decided to keep the party small and just had my mom, dad, and brother over to celebrate. I don't know why we didn't take a picture with everyone. I hate when I forget things like that.

She wasn't shy about opening her presents. Of course her favorite part were the bows!

Alan's family called and left a message singing Happy Birthday to her. She LOVED it...that is until she deleted the message.

It's amazing that in just one year this little baby can grow into.....

This little girl

And she can walk too!!!
