October

We went to the Seattle Zoo for the weekend

It was a little rainy but very worth it. Macey was worn out by the end.

Alan and I had tons of fun playing the role of "Lucy Legs" and "Elvis" in a murder mystery game put on by some friends. Alan won best dressed, and I was the only one who guessed correctly who the murderer was!

I made tons of fresh apple cider with our friends apple press and some free apples! YUM!
Due to popular request here is a picture of our little Unicorn! We had to bribe/distract her with candy in order to get her costume on at first. Once she figured out that you get candy by going from house to house she totally forgot about the costume!
We went trick or treating with some friends of ours.

Our GIANT Pumpkin

Our neighbors parents grew pumpkins and had a few HUGE ones. We thought the one our neighbor had was awesome. This morning when I came outside we had this pumpkin sitting on our door step. Macey thought it was pretty awesome. I can't wait for all the yummy pumpkin seeds!I asked Macey if she loved the pumpkin, and the next thing I know she's kissing it!

Has it really been 10 years?!!!

I had my 10 year high school reunion just the other weekend. It was so much fun to get together with some of my good friends from high school. In a lot of ways it felt like nothing had changed!

Ewww stinky

Macey is a lot like her dad in that she's very aware of smell. Most times when we change her diaper she plugs her nose and says ewww.She also waves her hand in front of her face and crinkles her nose.

Party with the parents!

Alan's parents, Jim and Julene came to visit us in Yakima for a couple of days. Despite the 104 degree days we all had a wonderful time.

Macey loved Grandma and Grandpa from the very beginning. As soon as they got to our house she jumped in Grandma's lap and wanted her to read a book.

We stopped by a local orchard and thought we'd check out how we looked as fruit.

Some people in our ward had a bunch of raspberry bushes, peach, and apricot trees that they said we could come pick fruit from.

I think both Grandpa and Macey ate about as much as we picked!

My parents had us all over for a barbecue. It was fun to see Macey run back and forth from one set of Grandparents to the next. She was loving it! You can see which side of the family Mace gets her height from!

By the end I think we did a thorough job of wearing ourselves out. We can't wait till Jim and Julene come back and visit again!

When we were at the beach on the 4th of July weekend my niece Anna had this purse that Macey LOVED, and so Anna gave it to her. (thanks Anna, we love you!) Macey carries it around with her all the time. The purse and Dolly are her favorite. Mace has kind of a weird smile in this picture 'cause she fell and has a huge FAT lip.

I also forgot to mention that my aunt provided ty-dye on our 4th of July vacation. Here's a picture of Macey in her sweet ty-dye onesie. She wanted the camera and was mad I was trying to take a picture with it.

Finally I let her play with one of our cameras while I took a picture with the other.

Good old 4th of July!

For the 4th of July we went to Lincoln City, which is a little beach town on the Oregon Coast. My whole Family (minus my brother in law Adrian) were able to come. We stayed in a beach house courtesy of my parents, and had a wonderful time.Macey got a flag at a parade we went to. She enjoyed waving it around.

Here's a shot of the girls as we sat around chatting on the stairs. Always a popular place to gather!

We did fireworks on the beach as well as made smores. This is a picture of Anna loving her sparkler!

Nichole, Mom, and Amy tried out the sparklers too.

As well as Alan!

A shot of the family

We also played lots of games. The Whitings love games!

Macey loved my brother Jeff and was constantly wanting to go to him. Here they are at the parade.

We've got a climbing machine

It seems like every time I turn around she's climbing on something else. I can't stop this girl! The video is the first day she discovered how to climb on the table. I'd take her down and she's just climb right back up.

Crazy Hair Messy Face

I love to see Macey's hair in the morning. She must have some pretty wild nights!

Here's a funny video of her feeding herself.

Did I tell you we planted a garden?

Well we did! Just down the road from us is a community garden. We decided to try our hand at it, but have been struggling a bit. Our plants just don't seem to be growing at the same rate as everyone else s around us. I think we need to water more. We're going to try that! Even though it's just down the road it's hard to get there everyday and water. Plus Macey likes to pull the plants she sees, as well as touch all the mud that happens as a result of watering. Some of the things we planted are, tomatoes, squash, carrots, peas, watermelon, and peppers.

Here are a few pictures from the day we planted everything.

Models for an hour!

Alan's co-worker's wife (Laura) works for a photographer here in Yakima. Last month he was teaching a class to people who come from all over the world to learn from him, and they asked if we'd like to be models for it. It didn't feel as awkward as I thought it would be to have 40 people standing around watching us, posing us, and telling us what to do.
In this picture Macey was supposed to be looking at Alan, but she was too distracted by all the on lookers. There were 2 or 3 people behind Alan trying to get her to smile, but still look like she's looking at him. This was the best they got.

Amy thanks for letting me borrow your clothes!
