Projects

So I've had a few request to see the bunk bed's I built this last Summer as well as some of my other projects, so I thought I'd create a "projects" page so I can brag!  Actually, it's a little embarrassing  but I love doing it, and hope it will motivate others. Some of the reason's I love building are that I can choose what I want the furniture to look like and custom fit it to a certain spot in my home, plus save tons of money doing it. I also just like creating new things. Most of my plans come from www.ana-white.com.  If you check it out, you'll get hooked!

Here it goes:
This bench fits just right in my entry way.  I reduced the size to fit so my front door and closet door wouldn't hit it.  The baskets turned out to be more expensive then the bench!

A good old simple book shelf.  Perfect to hold our fish tank.

This was a coffee table that my parents dog had chewed on all along the edges.  I decided to take it apart, cut it down to remove the chew marks and so it would fit in our sectional area, and refinish it.

This is a side table I got at a yard sale that I refinished to match the coffee table.

We love this little kids picnic table. It was one of my first projects.  I built it from scrap wood 2x4's i got from a building site near us.  It needs another paint job, but that just show's it's been loved!

This console table is probably my favorite.  Alan and I built it together.

And here they are...the bunk beds!  By far my biggest project.  Alan helped with some of it and put in a lot of hours searching for brackets that would work well for them, and be easier when we ever need to take them apart.  I built these while pregnant with Jane.  I'm not sure how many hours I spent sanding in our hot garage, but at least 1/2 those hours were spent thinking, why the heck am I doing this, we could have just bought some!  In the end I do like them.  Would I ever build bunk bed's again? Ask me in 10 years and we'll see. The kids love them and that's what matters. ;)

A fun little bench outside our house.  Again built from free scrap 2x4's.

A ledge, simple and easy!

A step stool for the kids bathroom

I framed the mirror in the kids bathroom with some extra thick molding we had. Thanks Kari and Todd!
Alan did a lot of this one.  We finally built some shelving and a work bench in our garage.  Now all we have to do is organize it.  Not my favorite part.

That's it for now!  I have been feeling the desire to  build something else lately, but we'll see.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
I'm so impressed. I love it all. It makes me want to set up a sweet work station where I can start my own projects. I have to make sure that I actually make the projects though, after the station is set up. :-) YOu did such a great job. What an incredible woman you are.
Those bunk beds are impressive. Very intimidating. I think I'll start a lot smaller. Thanks for finally posting these projects.
