Right before our vacation to Afton Macey started running a fever. It was only 102 but I thought I'd just call the doctor and talk to them, they said if I wanted to bring her in they had an appointment open in an hour. I wasn't going to take her in, but last minute thought I would. Alan randomly had an open morning and said he'd come along. While in the doctors office Macey had a Febrile Seizure. These type of seizures happen when your temp. spikes quickly.Macey's was a pretty bad one. She quit breathing and turned blue. There were about 5 doctors in the room and they were pretty stressed. We later heard her oxygen level was at a 60 which is pretty low I guess. She finally came out of the seizure and the doctors called for an ambulance to take her to the hospital. When she got there her temp was 106. They kept her for 24 hours and she was fine. She recovered pretty quickly.
It was very scary. I was so glad that we were at the doctors office, and that Alan was there also. What a blessing.

ahh! That is so scary! I am so glad little Mace pulled out of it!! That had to be so frightening for you guys. Just to see her cute little body in a big hospital bed made me nearly cry!! oh Macey I'm so glad that you're better....is this something that could happen more easily to her in the future since she's had one already?
